If you have a yoga studio, one of the most important things you want to make sure of is that the studio is comfortable for your students. The last thing yoga students want to feel is uncomfortable or cramped. You want them to feel welcome, relaxed and open to the experience when they step inside of your studio.
One of the benefits of yoga is that it helps you to become more conscious and more sensitive to the environment around you. For this reason, it is particularly important that you create an environment in your yoga studio that students will want to return to again and again.
So how can you make sure your yoga students have the best experience possible?
One way is to make sure that the studio reflects your values as a lightworker business owner. For example, you might use sustainable flooring materials such as bamboo or natural fiber carpet as a way to show your commitment to the environment. Your choice of furniture can also pay homage to the environment and save you money at the same time if you get recycled pieces.
Another way is to create a sense of order. Clutter is one of the most damaging things to any environment. Make sure students have a safe place to put their things that is separate from where they will be practicing yoga. You don’t want shoes and coats and other personal belongings taking up space and distracting your students from the healing atmosphere of the yoga class.
Pictures can also add to the ambience. You want pictures that will bring about a sense of peace and calm when students look at them. Pictures of yoga practitioners would be nice. Also consider scenes of nature such as water, beaches or mountains. Like pictures, colors contribute a lot to the ambience. Make sure your studio is painted in colors that invoke the feelings you want to inspire. Light and earthy colors tend to give off a feeling of peace and relaxation. Harsh colors can have the opposite effect and can interfere with the meditative atmosphere that you are trying to create.
