If you’re a psychic, Reiki healer, astrologer, yoga teacher or some other type of spiritual healer, you should always be on the lookout for clients. No, we’re not telling you to sell your soul to the devil and try to convince people who don’t want your services that they actually need them. Rather, we want you to make sure the people who need your services know who you are and what you can do for them.
One of the best ways to spread the word about your healing business is through street marketing techniques. Street marketing is a type of marketing that was made popular by those marketing entertainers and other members of the music industry. The idea is to go to where the people are. Many people who listened to the latest music happened to be young people who were out and about on the streets each day. Street marketers would interact with them, while sharing the latest beats and subtly influencing the young people to buy the music.
Lightworker business owners can use some of these same techniques, looking for ways to mingle with people while they are out and about and giving them information about healing businesses that can help them. Some street marketing techniques that you might want to try include:
1. Leaving fliers or business cards on car windshields. You never know where someone is in life and whether or not they want or need a healing service. By leaving fliers or business cards on the car windshields of parked cars, you give people an opportunity to learn about your business if they are open to it. If they’re not, they can simply toss the materials. But if you set the intention that you place the materials on the cars of the people who need them, you’ll likely waste very little of your efforts.
2. Hanging out with other holistic-minded folks and simply talking about your business. What are the places that you like to go? Chances are, there are others at those places that are as interested in healing as you are. If you’re taking a yoga class, attending a metaphysical meetup or hanging out at a holistic fair, you’re likely to run into some folks who could either use your services or who know someone else that can. Get over your fear of ‘bragging’ about your business. Remember, if your purpose is to serve people, you owe it to the Universe to let people know that you’re available to do the service that you’re meant to do.
3. Get your friends involved. You’re a wonderful person, you’re a healer, and you have people who love you. Get them to help you market your business by giving them business cards and fliers to hand out to the people they know. Visualize the circle of people who know about your business and who are being touched by your business to expand larger and larger.
4. Find community-friendly stores. Every community has stores or restaurants that welcome fliers and business cards from local members of the community. There may be a table at the front of the store or a bulletin board where people are welcome to hang fliers. Locate those places (ask friends and family members if they know of any) and leave information about your business there for the right customers to see it and take advantage of it.
