If you’re a business owner, it’s key that you feel comfortable receiving money for your services. Your underlying beliefs about money can have as much of an impact on your business’s success as your ability to attract customers and provide services. For example, if you don’t believe you’re worthy of money, you might overcharge or offer your services for free.
Sometimes it will be obvious that you have issues with money, but other times your beliefs can be a little harder to detect. Here are some signs that you may need to examine your feelings about money:
–You feel uncomfortable when someone asks you how much you charge.
–You feel like ‘the bad guy’ if you have to remind someone that it’s time to pay up for a service.
–You hate thinking about the financial aspects of your business.
–You frequently run out of money at the end of the month.
–You have no idea how much it costs to run your business.
–You charge a lower price than you really want to charge.
–You resent other lightworkers who charge more for their services.
–You frequently let people pay too little, pay late or get away with not paying at all.
–You feel guilty for charging for your services at all.
–You always let others set your rates and determine how much your service is worth. (The key word here is always since paying by donation can sometimes work – more on that in a later blog post).
Do any of these sound familiar? If they do, spend some time meditating on your thoughts about money so you can ensure that you don’t break the natural flow of giving and receiving in your life.
