When people want psychic readings they often are in crisis and believe that the world will end if they don’t get psychic guidance into their problems. Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating, but if you’ve been doing psychic readings for any length of time, you know that people will often contact you and ask you to drop everything and do a psychic reading right now because I just have to know if he is in love with me at this very minute and I won’t eat or sleep until I hear what my Spirit Guides have to say.
So the question is, should you take last-minute psychic jobs? Should you be available at the drop of a hat to answer your clients’ every whim. I suppose there are some situations where it really is an emergency and a person truly could benefit from your service immediately. (I’m thinking of rare occasions such as a kidnapping.) But in most cases, the question is more likely to have to do with whether the client’s significant other is cheating or whether a job interview will pan out.
While this is a personal decision that every professional psychic will have to make on his or her own, I think last-minute psychic jobs are a no-no for a variety of reasons.
Last-minute psychic jobs don’t respect your time.
Your psychic ability is a professional service that is valuable. Can you just call a lawyer and expect him or her to drop everything and consult with you right away? More than likely you’ll have to make an appointment. If you happen to call during his office hours and he is free, however, he may say come right in. The same goes with you. If you work regular hours and a client calls during that timeframe, then great. Do the psychic reading and everyone is happy. But if you’re not working, respect your time send the client your automated scheduler.
Last-minute psychic jobs often reflect inner lack and desperation.
Why are you willing to take on a last-minute psychic job? Are you doing so because you’re worried about getting enough clients or being able to run your psychic business? Remember what you know about the Law of Attraction. If you have feelings of lack you’re going to attract more lack. But if you feel prosperous and know that there is no shortage of clients, there is no need for you to take on last-minute psychic jobs. Period.
Last-minute psychic jobs can hurt the client.
The ethical and responsible psychic wants to empower his or her clients, not make them dependent upon psychic readings. When you insist that your clients make an appointment, some time passes and they’re able to put their ‘crisis’ into perspective. Sometimes they realize that it wasn’t really a crisis after all and by the time they come to the reading, they’ve had a chance to reflect and can get much more insight into the larger picture of what’s happening. By slowing your clients down and allowing them to realize that they survived without that immediate psychic insight, you show them that they have more power and fortitude than they originally thought. That’s what being a healer is all about.
