Sure, you didn’t become a professional psychic, Reiki healer, astrologer or energy healer for the money, but you still have to handle your day to day expenses — both professionally and personally — in order to thrive.
Some months you might find that you’re coming up short, and here’s where your email list comes in.
A client of mine had been thinking about offering a Reiki class. She had taught the class before so she had all of the materials that she needed. She just wasn’t sure when she would offer it. She was coming up short in her finances for the month, so she decided she would offer the course in the next two weeks. She drafted an email and sent it out to her email list and within 24 hours, all slots for the class were filled.
Thanks to her email list, she ended up with an overnight cash infusion of more than $1,000. If she hadn’t had the email list, she would have had to spend more time marketing the event. Pulling together a last-minute event would have been nearly impossible.
There are other ways that your email list can bring in fast cash.
—You can offer a special. A psychic client of mine offered 25% off for New Moon readings that clients could buy in advance and use at a later time. The promotion was a hit.
—You can fill a cancelled appointment. If someone cancels at the last minute, that empty slot could be filled with a paying client. An email can let clients know there’s an immediate opening, and you never know who could happen to need it.
—You can reach more people. People forward emails. If you create interesting content in your emails, there’s a good chance that your clients will forward the information on to their friends who have similar interests. As more people find out about you, more people will hire you.
But again, it all comes down to that email list. If you don’t have an email list, check out Aweber. You can try it out for a month for only $1. Not only should you get the email addresses of all of your current clients, but you should create an area where potential clients can sign up for your mailing list on your Web site.
