When you’re first starting a Reiki practice, you may take clients any time you can get them. However, it’s a good idea to set up hours in which you’ll work with clients even before you have clients to schedule.
Preparation is one of the most powerful forces in the Universe. When we prepare for something, we unleash some type of magic that helps to herald that thing in. Those who understand the Law of Attraction would say that our preparation is evidence of our belief in that thing coming to be.
So when you set aside time for clients each day or each week — even though you don’t currently have clients — you’re sending a signal that you’re ready for the clients that are on the way. You begin to connect energetically to the idea of setting a certain period aside to work with clients.
When that period occurs make sure you’re able to take clients if a client should come. In other words, don’t tell yourself you set aside time for clients between noon and 2 pm every day and then schedule another appointment during that timeframe.
There’s another reason why it’s good to set up a specific time in which you’ll work with clients. As a Reiki business owner, you’ll have to divide your time between many tasks. Working with clients will be only one thing that you have to do. You must also do accounting, marketing, strategic planning and other tasks unless you have the money to pay someone else to do those things.
By creating time that’s designated for clients you train yourself to make time and space for all of the various responsibilities that you will be taking on. One mistake that many novice business owners make is they devote all of their time to working in their business but not enough time to working on their business. In other words, they don’t do all of the things that help a business to grow.
When you start off carving out time for client work and carving out time for all of your other responsibilities, you place importance on everything and create the time, space and energy to do it.
