Are your expectations too low?

What do you think your lightworker business is capable of? How many clients do you think you can serve? How many people do you think you can touch? How much money do you think you can make? How much bigger do you think your healing business will be a year from now?

If you haven’t thought about that before, you are missing one of the key tenets of the Law of Attraction – you have to know where you’re going in order to get there. You must have a vision and an intention to get there. Then as you work toward your goals, the Universe will guide you along.

But are your expectations too low? So often we think about what we would like to achieve by a certain time, and then we temper our dreams by saying ‘but that’s not realistic.’ What exactly is realistic? And who determines what realistic is? And what if we do set high expectations and we don’t meet them? What’s the worst thing that can happen?

While it doesn’t matter if we don’t meet our high expectations, we can be hurting ourselves by setting expectations that are too low. If you aim high, you may not get to where you intended to go, but you will likely end up at a higher point than you are now. But if you aim low, you make excuses for moving forward to your potential. You likely won’t work as hard or as smart because it won’t matter as much. You may even self-sabotage yourself if you start to do better than you anticipated.

It’s time to ask yourself what success means to you. If you are a psychic, ask yourself how many clients you ideally want to have? Or maybe success to you means creating a psychic development course and getting 20 people to sign up.

For some healers, success may mean writing a book to educate people. For others it might be creating a Web site so that potential customers can find you online. As you come up with your ideas about what success means to you, think about what steps you need to take to bring those ideas to fruition.

Listen for the voice in your head that aims to lower your expectations. It will tell you that you can’t really do it. Or it might ask you why anyone would want to listen to what you have to say. If you’re wondering whether that voice is right, let experience be the deciding factor. Don’t count yourself out before you even try.

The truth is that most people set low expectations for themselves and never give themselves the opportunity to do what they most want to do. As a lightworker, you know the importance f being heart guided, and that often means doing things that defy logic. Even if it doesn’t seem like something can happen, the heart knows that miracles can occur in any moment when the ingredients of faith, trust and action are mixed together.
